This week it was very hot again but it also came down rain, which we urgently need 😉

In this week’s article, the Nissi JetMag filter system was about, which above all allows a much faster change of filters on the lenses. In contrast to the old situation with screw filters, this is a magnetic filter system in which the filters can be changed very, very quickly due to a magnetic adapter ring on the lens.

Various sets are available. I chose the Creator Set, which, in addition to the front and back covers, contains the variable ND filter for 1 to 5 f-stops and a fixed ND filter again for four stops, as well as various adapter rings to adapt the system to filter sizes between 67 and 82.

However, one should not misunderstand that the Nissi Jetmag filter system is anything but inexpensive. Because if you want to use this system consistently, further adapter rings and above all covers are necessary from my point of view, so that the front lenses of the respective lenses are protected. This then includes that the old lens caps, but also more importantly the corresponding sun visors, can no longer be used on the lenses. This disadvantage can be bought by, for example, the super-fast switch between a variable ND filter for videography and a polarizing filter for taking photos. All in all, the set is expensive, but you have to admit it’s worth your money.

Then this week we had another article in PetaPixel, where another RAW editor was reported, namely Aphera . This is currently only available for macOS and is intended to enable or focus on the fact that it can essentially be operated with keyboard shorts and so on. Due to the new introduction of the market, this raw editor is currently provided with a 50% discount. That’s currently $99. The offer is valid until the 31st. August of this year. In addition, there is a trial version, so before you purchase a license here, you can simply try this product.

Apple probably had the biggest news this week with the presentation of the M6 Mac Mini and a new Mac Strudio device. The M6 Mini skips the M5, which probably does not exist for this class of devices, and then pushes itself further forward. As usual in the RaM crisis, of course, storage prices have risen, so that the smallest M6 Mini now starts at 1049 euros. The devices will probably be available from September and can already be pre-ordered.

Then there is news in terms of MFT lenses. There were reports a few weeks ago that Panasonic doesn’t want to produce different lenses here the Lumix 42517 and the 25 1.4 anymore, but now a update message appeared that says that panasonic wants to bring these lenses in a I call them version 2 improved.

And Adobe has released news about Photoshop . Namely, Photoshop is awarded a new markup that allows certain objects to be sketched into a photo, which are then generated accordingly via the AI. The examples that have now been published look relatively good. But you will have to wait and see how it turns out in the end.
