Last week review 42-2026
This week it was despite everything very nice and partly unusually warm, even if you can feel the autumn in every corner 🙂

Of course, this week was about the release of Skylum Web Access – a browser application that allows the RAW development of images practically as much as the desktop app. In addition, the basic version of Web Access is offered free of charge. Of course, you don’t have access to the AI-supported functions in this form, and the storage space for uploading images is also relatively tight at 100 MB – especially when I consider that the files of the Lumix are already about 30 to 33 MB in size. Nevertheless, the first beta version, as I think, is well done. You can really browser-basedly perform practically all RAW developments that you deem necessary here. The licensed version costs 69 euros and of course unlocks the AI functions. This can be ordered via the following link.

In addition, this week Panasonic has released firmware updates for the Lumix S1 Mark II, the S1R Mark II and also the Lumix S9 . While the versions for the S1 series are relatively unspectacular, the firmware update for the Lumix S9 adds a really new feature or expands an existing one: The codec MP4 Lite can now also be used for recordings at 60 frames per second in 4K and 120 frames per second in Full HD.

Finally, a number of programs have gained increased attention this week – we are talking about Artcraft. The developers there have reprogrammed practically all Adobe apps, i.e. Photoshop, Lightroom Classic and so on, with artificial intelligence, in Rust. In the meantime, the complete series of Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Word, Excel and others, has also been added.
To form my own opinion, I may try the Lightroom variant – i.e. Lightcraft – and report on it here if necessary. To what extent both Adobe and Microsoft will put up with this appropriation – I deliberately do not want to speak of copyright infringement – or whether there will be legal repercussions remains to be seen.
All in all, another very eventful week. I hope you like the articles and look forward to your questions and comments.
