Last week review 25-2026

This week was really hot with temperatures almost at 40° C, you don’t feel like anything anymore 🙁

Luminar Neo 1.27.1: New feature instead of just bugfixes

Weekly review 25-2026

This week’s article was about Skylum’s recently released version 1.27.1 of Luminar Neo. Normally, with such a subversion, one expects mainly bug fixes and minor corrections. New functions, on the other hand, are rather rare. It is all the more surprising that Skylum has actually integrated a new feature with this update – albeit initially as a beta version.

This is the ability to import Lightroom catalogs into Luminar Neo. An initial test has shown that reading a Lightroom catalog already works very well. Important information such as the storage locations of the image files, albums or folders as well as basic editing parameters are taken over.

The takeover is largely one-to-one. This means, for example, that an exposure compensation of +20 is also adopted as +20 in Luminar Neo. However, this does not necessarily lead to exactly the same image adjustments, since the respective editing algorithms of the programs work differently.

Nevertheless, it can be stated that this new function already seems very mature for a beta version.

If you still want to purchase Luminar Neo, you have the Summer Sale, which is still available until 30. June, still the possibility to receive a discount of 20 percent with the discount code TUXOCHE20.

Adobe Lightroom 15.4: Update withdrawn at short notice

Weekly review 25-2026

Last week, an update for Adobe Lightroom to version 15.4 was also released. However, by the time I wanted to install the update, Adobe had already withdrawn the version. Apparently there was a serious error in the new function for finding duplicates in the catalog.

A few days ago, a corrected version was finally released: Lightroom 15.4.1. I will report on this version in more detail in the coming week.

Problems with Windows 11 licenses

Weekly review 25-2026

In conclusion, I would like to report on a minor problem. Almost two years ago I had purchased several Windows 11 licenses from VIP-CDKey, as I needed them for various projects and especially for virtual machines.

I recently set up a second Proxmox server. In this context, it would of course have been practical to also have some virtual Windows machines available.

Unfortunately, it turned out that the existing Windows 11 keys can no longer be used for activation. I have already contacted the dealer and am now curious to see how they react to the fact that Windows 11 cannot be activated with the supplied keys.

As soon as there is news about this, I will of course report on it.

All in all, another very eventful week.  I hope you like the articles and look forward to your questions and comments.

ciao tuxoche
