Last week review 48-2024
|Weekly review 48-2024 and this week it was partly very nice due to the high, but above all a bit too warm 😉
This week it was about a mini PC, an SBC as small as Raspberry Pi, only with the difference that this is a full-fledged X86PC. We are talking about the Raxda-X4, for which unfortunately there is no distributor in Europe. You therefore have to have it sent to you via AliExpress or other providers.
The small PC is available with RAM sizes between 4-16 GB and, if desired, also equipped with an EMMC memory between 32-128 GB. When I ordered it, the models with more than 8 GB RAM were not available. So I have a model with 8 GB RAM and 64 GB EMMC. The latter would have been dispensable, as it is relatively slow and I have since upgraded to a 1 TB 2230 NVMe.
Equipped with an Intel N100 CPU, you can really install any operating system here. I now have Linux Mint and Windows 11 on it. It’s not the strongest CPU, but it’s more than enough for surfing, emailing or writing this post. I use the little guy because it only consumes 7-8 watts when idle, even in the home office under Windows 11.
With Windows 11, there is also the fact that Windows 11 probably doesn’t come with any drivers for the Intel V226 network adapter or the corresponding drivers for WiFi networks. This has the pleasant side effect that you can install Windows 11 with a local account. There are also no connections left to be desired, such as USB, HDMI and for an NVMe, so you can certainly use the Raxda-X4 for many projects.
And of course we don’t have to forget Black Week, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Last week I reported that I had secured a cheap prepaid offer for the Adobe Cloud. Let’s see what else comes.
This of course also applies to Skylum, which has special Black Friday offers for Lumina Neo, which are reduced by an additional 20% if you order with the code TUXOCHE via the following link. The reduced prices are valid until December 2nd. So if you want, you can still secure an attractive offer for Luminar NEO.
All in all, another very eventful week. I hope you like the articles and look forward to your questions and comments.
