Last wek review 49-2024 and the year is almost over and the temperatures are slowly becoming more wintery, but here in the area the weather is only wet and cold 🙁
This week we were once again talking about the power supply of the Lumix S5 series cameras. At the time of my Lumix G9 I had solved this problem with a dummy battery and a power bank. This time a dummy battery is also being used, but with the background that the USB-C connection remains free, especially on the Lumix S5 IIx.
The power supply is then provided by Sony compatible NP-F batteries and a corresponding adapter, which can also supply a device with power via the USB connection if necessary.
NP-F batteries are almost always available if you are a bit into video and so the USB-C connection on the Lumix S5 IIx can be used for an SSD. This saves you the sometimes tedious task of copying the video clips from the SD card.
The NP-F adapter even has 2 power outputs, so that in addition to the camera, e.g. an external monitor can be operated, then you should definitely use the larger NP-F 970 batteries. The two smaller 550 batteries only take 30 minutes to run out.
Then Black Week or Black Friday has just ended. I had been planning to download Excire Search 2024 as a trial version for a while now and try it out. It’s not about the automatic keywording and AI search really being 100% accurate, but about finding the image or images you want.
As I said, I wanted to download a trial version first and try it out, but Excire 2024 was on offer for €69.00, and I immediately secured a license. I will certainly try out the software over the Christmas holidays and then report on it here..
