Adobe Camera RAW 8.8 and DNG converter

Post update on 14.Aug.2016

The community is waiting for Lightroom 6 and there is a message from Adobe.. but no Lightroom 6

Adobe Camera RAW 8.8 and DNG converterAdobe published a new version for the Adobe Camera RAW converter. The new version 8.8 supports a couple of the new Canon cameras 750 and 760 D and the shortly published new Canon 100-400/4.5-5.6 II L USM lens. The Tamron 15-30 wide angle zoom is supported with a new lens profile besides a couple of bugfixes.  Additinally there is a update for the lens profile of the Tamron 150-600mm.

The new version of the Adobe Camera RAW converter is available for Photoshop CC and Photoshop CS6, the last version without a cloud subscription. Older Photoshop versions are only supported via the new DNG converter, which allows to convert the camera raw file into the DNG format and then process it with Photoshop.

What i think about the DNG format i posted in my [post id=133]article[/post], even though i use the DNG format for [post id=514]timelapse[/post] sequences, where the last bit of quality is not necessary. Owners of newer camera modelss and older Phtoshop versions have to decide either to go the DNG way or order the Photoshop CC cloud offer for 12,– €/month.

For the first time there are no new functions only offered to Photoshop CC users.
