Last week review 20-2026

Weekly review 20-2026 and with this weekend, summer is here, matching the holidays and the extended weekend

This week it was about a switch, namely the Sodola 8 Port 2.5 GB Switch, which I got because I needed a managed switch for a certain constellation, with which, among other things, VLAN can be realized. In addition to the 8 2.5 GBit ports, the switch also has a 10 GB SFP+ port, which I do not need so far. With the device, the different ports can be assigned to different VLANs, so that several networks can be on one port. Only the general name between “Access” and “Trunk” and so on is here in contrast to other managed switches, as I now know for example from Zyksel, a little different. But the result is the same. The special advantage of this switch is that it is one of the quite inexpensive with just under 90 € and is therefore also affordable for a home network.

The offer of AIArty runs until the 8th. June. The products are offered at a cheaper price. I had probably presented the Image Enhancer, the Video Enhancer presented as the Matting Tool in articles videos. During the offer you get on the Image Enhancer, the Video Enhancer as well as on the Matting Tool each 5,— € discount and on both the 1 year and on the lifetime license. If you use the bundle offer, you even get a discount of 10,– €. It is not only the Rbatte but the prices are also considerably reduced.

As a further innovation, the WordPress 70 was published this week, which I have not yet installed on my blogs. I will take a look at this separately, because such a major release sometimes brings problems, for example with installed plugins. And then I just don’t want to experience any surprises, what you could already see due to the release notes, that there is now a central place with which different AI connectors can be connected to the different AI chats, so ChatGPT, Cloud AI and so on, so that not every single tool has to bring its own connector or its own option.

Panasonic the Lumix Lab App in version 3.0 released, which can now also handle the RAW format of the Panasonic Lumix cameras. With this, it is now possible, for example, to download the images from the camera via a WLAN connection, to process them in the Lumixab app and then to share them on social media, for example. In addition, it will be possible to make new or existing updates directly with the app without having to make the detour via the download, storage on an SD card and subsequent firmware update in the camera. I am very curious about the processing possibilities of images, as I essentially still focus on pipe images. But from time to time, the pipe pictures can also be shared in a quick way.

On1 Photo RAW released version 26.4.4 this week, which offers a significant new feature called Restore AI. This feature allows you to restore old images and remove blur, noise, and other debris with AI. A similar function already existed with Lumina Neo, although the results there were also very convincing. In addition to this new function, neuro lenses are also supported, such as the seven Artisans 18 mm F1.4 lens and the Maike 85 mm F1.8 lens, which are now seamlessly integrated into the ON1 Photo Pozess.

All in all, another very eventful week.  I hope you like the articles and look forward to your questions and comments.
