Last week review 22/2014

Last week review 22/2014 starts with better weather, even though May wasn’t that good (in terms of weather)

Last week review 22/2014In the first [post id=378]article[/post] we took a look at Lightroom’s exporting images and all metadata as a catalog to a destination system and synchronising this with a catalog on the destination system. This way we have all metadata copied, and of course any image processing you might have done. Beeing on a trip you can import your images on a notebook, delete the bad images, add keywords and do a basic image processing if you want. After all done export these images as a catalog and import them into the destination system, like a desktop pc.

Last week review 22/2014In the second [post id=411]article[/post] for this week, we take a look on how you can backup your Windows 7 or 8 installation on a external drive. The tool i use for this purpose is Clonezilla, a opensource tool which easily can be installed to a usb stick. Since it is a small linux system, you don’t have drive letters. Drives are namend in the Linux way, e.g. sda for the first drive in the system.

Clonezilla is a great tool to backup a complete drive or a single partition to an external drive. I use it quite often, since i install a lot of software on my notebook for testing. To have a clean base installation i do a partition backup to an USB drive.

I hope that some of the articles on this blog gained your interests and i look ahead to your comments/suggestions. And don’t forget, i installaed a feed for you via feedburner.

ciao tuxoche
