Rumors about Lightroom Mobile 2.0
Rumors about Lightroom Mobile 2.0 occured in Adobe Blog, allready announcing the new version, now the post has vanished.
Today Adobe announced the availibilty of Lightroom Mobile 2.0 for Android. The article appeared in my RSS feed, but the blog post on Adobe’s page probably was deleted. In the Google play store you’ll find Lightroom Mobile version 1.4.
The following improvements will be implmented according to Adobe blog post:
- An in-app camera, supporting the capture of images in DNG raw format
- Shoot-through presets, also available within the in-app camera, enabling previewing and capturing images with a series of built-in presets providing non-destructive editing
- Dehaze tool to adjust haze and fog in an image
- Split Toning enhancement, enabling the addition of a color cast to the highlights and shadows of an image, creating a uniquely stylized color image or replicating the look and feel of a traditional toned black and white image
- Target Adjustment Tool functionality in the Color/B&W editing tool, providing direct, on-image editing controls
- Point mode in Curve tool providing complete control over the tonality and contrast of an image
- Enhanced sharing with one-tap access to Adobe Premiere Clip for crafting video stories.
Now we are patiend to hear why Adobe deleted the blog post. A mentioned article from the photoghrapher Colby Brown who took images with a Nexus 6P on cuba has been deleted too. But even though the blog post has been deleted the blogs featured images still was downloadable 🙂
Anyway Android will improve more and more and probably for your vacation snapshots you don’t need a rela camera anymore. The built-in cameras are getting better and image processing is getting better from version to version. Really smart is combining Adobe Lightroom Mobile 2 with Premiere Clip. Because Adobe dropped the force to have Creatice Cloud since version 1.4 there will be more and more users arround there and the combination Lightroom Mobile/Premiere Clip is an improvement to version 1.4. I’ll just hope that Adobe will enhance the sharing options in the new version, so sharing your images can be done to every social media installed on your smartphone.
Update
Just download Adobe Premiere Clip in a nnew version. Maybe this is a hint to a soon upcoming Lightroom Mobile 2.0, since according to the blog post, there will be a sharing opportunity with Adobe Premiere Clip.
Because of this “leak” it should be clear that Mobile 2.0 is on its way. What do you think about it, especially about the camera function anabling RAW functions to your smartphone using the new Android camera API. I’m looking forward to your comments. And after the new version is released i check on it.
