Last week review 31-2025

This week was truly a week of midsummer temperatures, with temperatures reaching up to 37°C here in our area 🙁

Weekly Review 31-2025This week’s article was about the ideal combination for audio recordings. The reason was that after about three years, I wanted a new microphone and a more stable microphone boom. At first, I thought about the Rode NT USB, but because of the small price difference, I ended up going with a Rode. Pocmic, which can be operated via both USB and XLR. However, the microphone is quite bulky and quite heavy.

Since we were already at it, I also treated myself to the PSA+ microphone arm from Rode, which can hold the entire combination securely and, above all, without sagging. The same applies to attaching much lighter microphones, such as the Rode VideoMic Go2, which, compared to the Podmic, is almost too light.

Weekly Review 31-2025

The microphone is currently connected via USB and can, of course, be connected to virtually all devices via USB-C. The sound quality is good in my opinion, and the microphone has also performed well in conjunction with Da Vinci Resolve, for example, with VoiceOver.

Weekly Review 31-2025Then, of course, there was Patch Day again. Microsoft, where various programs have been provided with corresponding security updates. This also affects WordPress, for example, where a warning is issued about the vulnerability of a specific plugin here UI Core and an appropriate update is urgently recommended.

Weekly Review 31-2025The TTArtisan 40mm F2.0 was introduced last week. It is offered at a very reasonable price of approximately $170 for the Sony E Mount and Nikon Z. A version for the L-Mount is announced for a later date. Due to its compact size, this lens is also suitable for compact full-frame cameras such as the Sony A7C or the Lumix S9.

Coming now The optical performance is impressive, but it might be an alternative to the Sigma 45mm/2.8.

All in all, another very eventful week. I hope you enjoy the articles and look forward to your questions and comments.

ciao tuxoche
