Last week review 22-2021
|Weekly review 22-2021 and this week it has become at least summer and one has again undertaken the first tours 😉
After almost 2 years I introduced last week ON1 Photo RAW 2021.5, a RAW converter or image editing tool of the American software manufacturer. ON1 was formerly started to compete against Lightroom by not offering a subscription. One still had a migration tool at that time. This was supposed to transfer the catalog from Lightroom to ON1.
ON1 has long since moved away from this and offers a sophisticated image editing tool that also offers management functions. However, these are implemented somewhat simpler than in the competitor product Lightroom Classic.
And in the meantime, ON1 also offers a subscription and you can also edit your images on mobile devices. In terms of image editing, ON1 actually offers everything that you would expect from a classic image editor. And in the meantime, you can also spice up landscape photos in ON1 Photo RAW with artificially inserted clouds.
After a long time, DxO has released version 4 of the Nik Collection. This includes a total of 8 applications that integrate seamlessly with Lightroom and/or Photoshop CC. The software collection is currently available for 99.99 € and even just under 60 60 € for the update. The offer ends on 30.06.2021. I have from the Nik Collection gladly used the HDR Tool and also the Silver EFex for the black and white conversions.
A trial version for all who want to try the Nik Collection is of course also available.
In the meantime, hardly a week goes by without a mirrorless camera manufacturer announcing some news. Last week it was Panasonic with the Lumix GH5 II and the GH6. This week Nikon announces a total of 4 new lenses of the Z-series. Once it is about a 105mm/2.8 and a 50mm/2.8 Macro lens.
Both lenses are already offered on the Nikon site. The 105mm is offered there with a price of 1.099,– € and the 50mm/2.8 for 729,– €.
After all, you can see that everything is oriented towards the mirrorless cameras and hardly anyone talks about normal DSLRs anymore. The systems have grown up.
All in all again very eventful weeks. I hope you enjoy the articles and look forward to your questions and comments. And otherwise I say “stay well”. I hope for improvement when as many people as possible are vaccinated.
