Luminar 1.28.1 revealed and a Special offer
Skylum introduced version 1.28.1 of Luminar last week. This is, although it is only a subversion, to associate with an action that is now in the period of the 21st. September to 16. October is running.

During this promotional period, you can upgrade to a current desktop license for 59 euros if you authorize a license of Luminar AI, Luminar 4, Luminar 3 and even an Aurora HDR version to upgrade. So this is a great action in principle. At the same time, Luminar promises that the processing process has changed to the extent that it has become faster and more stable.

This time I tested again with some examples that I recently presented at Luminar Neo . This includes in particular the focus stacking, the assembly of a panorama, but also of course not to forget the export of images.
Even without a stopwatch, it was immediately noticeable during focus stacking that the routines work considerably faster here. I can’t compare apples with pears now, but at the time it was presented as focus tacking, it took me 2:31 min. for a certain stack and today we are at 31 seconds. Of course, this is also due to changed hardware, but it should not be that much faster, except for the modified graphics card.
The same applies to export, whether to JPEG or Tif, and of course also to the composition of a panorama. Nothing has changed in the functions, but you can see here that Skylum has done a lot on the optimization here. You can also notice this, for example, with the depth mask, which was only recently introduced. This now reacts practically without delay to every drag in the mask image. Also the presentation of the preview for the orientation is now practically done immediately.
