Last week review 17-2026

Weekly review 17-2026 and we first cracked the 20°C again here in the area with a bright blue sky 😉

Last week review 17-2026This week’s article was about the differences between the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air with the M4 processor, which I bought, so to speak, as a replacement for the now limited iPad Air. The MacBook Air has only two Thunderbolt ports as the most striking difference, while other ports such as HDMI, card readers and so on have been omitted here. However, the biggest difference is not so significant. However, the weight difference of 300 grams is relatively strong. The MacBook Air is not actively cooled, so it must limit its performance.

However, this is practically not noticeable in normal tasks. However, with tasks such as rendering videos in DaVinci Resolve, you should be careful, as it can actually lead to high CPU temperatures, which then turn down the CPU. But for all other tasks, the MacBook Air is really ideal here, even if it is of course limited by the only two ports in terms of hardware.

Nevertheless, I would welcome it today if there would still be a MacBook Air in the design like the older MacBook Air with a single processor. That was just a good bit smaller and lighter.

Last week review 17-2026hen we secondly released the Panasonic this week, a new lens, namely the 40 mm/f 2.0l for the Lumix full-frame series. Since it has practically the same data in size and weight as the 18-40 mm kit lens for the Lumix S9, one involuntarily wonders why such a lens with relatively high light intensity in this case 2.0 was not already brought out with the appearance of the LumX S9.

Last week review 17-2026DJI introduced the DGI Pocket 4 last week. And then, of course, one asks oneself involuntarily: Would an upgrade from the DJI Pocket 3 be worthwhile? According to the reviews available so far, the image quality has been improved a little and the camera allows, for example, higher frame rates, especially when it comes to slow motion, for example 240 frames per second in the 4K range, which is a decent performance for such a camera. Nevertheless, it must be stated that an upgrade may not be worthwhile, because here, for example, no recordings in 4:3 format are possible anymore. This means that one would take a step back to the regular image profile for the video clips. Also the experiences with the Pocket 3 in terms of photo were not so good from my point of view, so that I do not expect any significant improvements with the Pocket 4. As of now, I probably won’t consider updating to the Pocket 4.

All in all, another very eventful week. I hope you like the articles and look forward to your questions and comments.
