Last week review 30-2024
|Weekly review 30-2024 and the weather is very different, sometimes very warm and then again a bit cool for almost the end of July 😉
This week it was again about a tripod, namely the Rollei EasyTraveller, which is a very compact carbon travel tripod. In direct comparison to my Feisol CT 3442, it is even lighter and, above all, has a small pack size. Due to a different design of the ball head, it can be partially recessed, saving even more space.
Another very nice solution is that the legs do not have to be folded over like with the Feisol, i.e. you have to put the tripod button between the legs to reduce the pack size. This also reduces the circumference and I also like the snap fasteners.
However, there are also points of criticism and one is of course the stability, because there are more segments and as a result these segments are also thinner, which of course does not make the tripod structure more stable. I have therefore got into the habit of not using the last segment as a rule. The same applies to the center column. Despite this limitation, I will keep the tripod because it is really small and compact and, unlike the Feisol, can also be attached to the WRND Sling backpack.
Then there is news about the Thunderbird email client. Thunderbirds has released version 128. This version is called nebula. The main new thing here is that, at least for the time being, this version is not distributed via an update as is usually the case. So you have to download and install this Thunderbird version for an operating system. Thunderbirds is available for Windows, Linux and Mac. I immediately took the opportunity and installed Thunderbird on the Mac.
However, one thing that is worthy of criticism is the fact that even if you have used Thunderbird before, installing this version apparently creates a new profile. In my opinion, this should have been solved differently. You can get around this by using the tools to export the profile and import it into the new version. Here you only have to enter the passwords for the email accounts.
My websites were automatically updated to WordPress 6.6.1. This is about bug fixes, but you should still update the installation.
And there is still a summer sale for a few days until the end of July, where Luminar NEO is being advertised with huge discounts. With the code AFF-anR5eq you get an extra 20% discount on an order, so it’s worth it for all those who are already interested in Luminar NEO.
So it can be worth trying out Luminar NEO and its extensions.
All in all, another very eventful week. I hope you like the articles and look forward to your questions and comments.
