L-Bracket for 20,– €
|Til now my Canon 7D only had a Arca-Swiss compatible camera plate. The advantages of a L-bracket are well knwon, since my 5D MK II is armed with a L-Brackt from Kirk.
The Canon 7D is a backup camera too me and is used for mainly timelapse photography or used for macro or telephoto photography (like with the 100-400/4.5-5.6 L lens) where the crop factor is a additional advantage. I’ve been looking for a L-Bracket for a longer time, but i didn’t want to spent so much money for a bracket from Kirk or RSS. Now i found one from GUMP, sold on places like amazon.
This L-Bracket is universal, meaning there a no special brackets for the different cameras.
As you can see on the pictures the connections for USB or cale release are relativly tight. With the Canon 7D it works out, but chances are, that with other cameras the connections or one of them might be usable at all depending on the camera modell.
The L-Bracket will stay mounted on the camera and i have to see wether the bracket will proof in pratical photography life.
I expect problems using the camera in portrait mode and trying to use a cable release. You’ll have to decide yourself, if you prefer the universal L-bracket or get a specialized one from Kirk or RSS and pay 5-6 times the price.
What do think about a cheap or fairly proced L-bracket or are you even using one. I’m looking forward to your comments and questions.
