Last week review 42-2025

Weekly Review 42-2025, and this week it got quite chilly, especially at night, but it’s already mid-October 🙂

Last week review 42-2025

This week’s post was about the DJI Pocket 3, which I bought almost exactly 4 years after its predecessor, the Pocket 2. The Pocket 3 has made some progress in the video area, which is why I tried recording a video for YouTube with it.

Aside from the larger display, which can be rotated 90° horizontally, the Pocket 3 has almost the same shape as the Pocket 2. In terms of video, it can, of course, record 4K videos at up to 120 frames per second, and the quality is really good, which is certainly thanks in part to the 1-inch sensor.

I was surprised that the DJI Mic 2 included in the Creative Combo works perfectly without the DJI Pocket once you’ve set the basic parameters for internal audio recording storage. I’ve used it a few times recently, even for recordings made with the Lumix. I also used the 3.5 mm jack to plug in a lavalier microphone, for example. I will definitely make more use of the Pocket 3 for B-roll recordings.

Last week review 42-2025s expected, Apple has introduced both a 14-inch MacBook Pro and 11- and 13-inch iPad Pro models with the new M5 chip. All models are expected to benefit from the chip’s increased performance, which also results in even better performance compared to, for example, the M4. The base MacBook Pro model is expected to cost €1,800 and, according to Apple, will ship to customers starting October 22nd. The same applies to the iPad Pro models.

IPersonally, I was hoping for an iPad Mini with an M5, but maybe that’s still coming 😉

Last week review 42-2025

Laowa has released a relatively small 200mm/f 2.0 telephoto lens, which, at a price of around €2,300, is still relatively affordable. The AF lens will be available for the Sony E-mount, L-mount, Nikon Z, and Canon EF. The latter is particularly surprising. Petapixel has already published a review. The AF performance with fast-moving subjects wasn’t outstanding. And I think that a lens like this is certainly used primarily for (indoor) sports, where the AF should be accurate.

All in all, another very eventful week. I hope you enjoy the articles and look forward to your questions and comments.

ciao tuxoche
