Last week review 48-2023

Weekly review 48-2023 and with the 1st Advent we are in the middle of the Christmas season and faster than we might like, this year 2023 is over again.

Last week review 48-2023

This week’s topic was the Godox X-Pro flash trigger, which I recently bought to replace the Godox TT685O I’ve had for a while. I already had the flash unit at the time of the Lumix G9, but I rarely use a flash unit. Nevertheless, I have wanted to use the options that arise from remote flash for a long time.

The Godox system is available for many system cameras, including Canon, Olympus, Fuji and others, and the flash trigger can be combined with various flashes. All you have to do is make sure that the trigger and the respective flash unit are set to the same channel and you are ready to go. Theoretically, the Godox X-Pro can manage 5 groups with several flash units, but I can’t try this out. Maybe I’ll buy a second flash one day, but at the moment that’s not on the agenda.

The combination works perfectly, now it’s just a matter of finding suitable subjects that can be photographed well with an unleashed flash.

Then a few days ago I was able to get hold of a reasonably priced Lumix-S 85mm/1.8 to supplement my faster fixed focal lengths. Maybe it’s a kind of early Christmas present. The 85mm is a nice little lens and with f 1.8 it’s fast enough without being too big and heavy. I can now use my :Lumix S5 very well with fixed focal lengths, because in addition to the 85mm/1.8 I have the Laowa 15mm/f2.0, the Sigma 24mm/f2.0, the Lumix 50mm/f1.8 and now the 85mm lens. That’s a good start.

Maybe I’ll have to take the time to change the page about my equipment soon, because there’s been some changes.

Until Monday you can still buy Luminar NEO at a greatly reduced price of just €49 for an annual subscription. And there are also other offers and with the code TUXOCHE you get up to 10% discount. This is your chance to get Luminar NEO and its extensions at a very reasonable price.

I’ve already reported on GenErase here and posted a video.

All in all, another very eventful week. I hope you enjoy the articles and look forward to your questions and comments.

ciao tuxoche
