Luminar NEO Ecosystem 1.25
By the time you’re reading this article, Luminar NEO Ecosystem 1.25 has been released, along with massive discounts.
Introduction

I’ve already had the chance to take a look at the beta version. The new ecosystem consists of the familiar desktop version of Luminar NEO, the mobile app for either Android or iOS, and the new Spaces, where you can manage and share your images in an online album. Some of the additional features require an additional license or Upgrade Pass, such as the use of Spaces.
At the same time, the program is said to offer 25% better performance.
Spaces
Spaces allows you to upload tagged photos from the catalog to a Skylum website and share the link.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any information on how many images you can upload this way, but in my opinion, this extension is more or less unnecessary, as there are already plenty of hosting alternatives for your own images. I find it problematic that this site cannot be protected. If I share the link, then someone can download the photos without registering.

So even though I’ve tried the beta here, something like what’s shown here with the EXIF data shouldn’t have happened.
Light-Depth
This new tool allows you to make adjustments to a photo limited to the spatial depth.

You can expand the area and make the transitions larger and softer. Additionally, you can adjust brightness and color temperature separately for the near and far areas of a photo.
I find this tool really effective, as it allows you to really add a touch of flair to landscapes and photos from other genres.

Restoration

Also new is the restoration of old photos, especially those with stains, tears, etc., which can be saved with the help of Luminar. I once had a box of such photos, including some of my great-grandfather, but unfortunately, it got lost during our last move.
But it’s really impressive what it can do. Not only are stains, cracks, etc. repaired and replaced if necessary, but you can also colorize the photo, making it a color photo. But be careful, as this can make very old photos look less authentic in my opinion, because you simply know that color photography may not have existed at the time.
Conclusion
I think the restoration and the Light Depth functions are good and also successful, but the web gallery on Skylum’s website isn’t. I especially hope that the final version will correct the minor errors in the Exif information. And if you’re going to do something like this, you need a permission system that allows you to share a link to images, but doesn’t allow others to download them, for example.
Be sure to use this link to get the discount, because the Black Friday offers are valid until December 1, 2025.
