This week, we talked again about the UGreen NAS, which received a firmware update to version 1.6.0.2917 this week. There were apparently some installation issues, so I only updated to this version at the beginning of the week.

New now is the Snapshot app, which allows you to create snapshots in the graphical interface when using the BTRFS file system. These can be created manually or scheduled.

Unfortunately, you’re not (yet) as flexible here as with a simple cron job on the interface, which allows you to create snapshots hourly, daily, and weekly, allowing for very extensive access to the file system. In any case, you can be warned before major changes For example, with shared folders or Docker containers, you can create a snapshot and restore it when needed.

There are other minor improvements as well, but unfortunately, an email MTA like Postfix, which is actually part of the standard Debian Bookworm installation, is still missing. However, I have Postfix installed, and my emails only need to be forwarded to another Realy server within the network.

Last week review 25-2025Da Vinci Resolve was then updated to version 20.0.1, which I have only installed on my MacBook Pro so far. I still have to do that on the Windows system. However, the update mainly addresses bugs that were still in version 2.0.0 or were discovered there.

Pixelmator Pro has now received its first update since Apple acquired the software. Of course, Apple Intelligence, and thus AI, also plays an important role in this update, enabling support for features such as ChatGPT. While the official site still supports version 3.6 Version 3.7 is already listed in the Apple Store.

Openmediavault also has a minor update to version 7.7.10, which also offers some fixes.

All in all, another very eventful week. I hope you enjoy the articles and look forward to your questions and comments.
