Last week reivew 08-2025
Weekly review 08-2025 and this week it was very very cold even here in our area with 7°;-(, but now more than 8 ° plus ;-(
This week’s article was about using Lightroom Classic on multiple computers. There are basically two usage scenarios: one is using Lightroom on a laptop, for example, which is only used for trips or on vacation, and of course the other option is that you really have several devices with which to manage the entire catalog.
The first option is solved quite quickly with the Export or Import Catalog function. With the other option, you have to synchronize the catalog, which is known to be an SQL master database that does not allow concurrent access, between the two devices.
Tools such as Syncthing or FreeFile Sync are suitable for this. I switched to , as this initiates the synchronization process, while the other app also wants to synchronize files that have changed while Lightroom is running.
During a sync process, you can then decide whether you want to synchronize the preview files.
Then there is news from Skylum, who have released a new version of Lumina Neo this weekend, which, among other things, makes handling masks etc. much easier. Newer cameras are also supported. The app can currently be ordered at particularly favorable conditions using the following link.
Then there is news about the AI application Adobe Firefly, which is now also available for video. So you can not only initiate generative filling in Photoshop, for example, but also AI-based video clip generation.
In addition, Adobe has now published a price plan, i.e. a subscription list, which starts at a price of $9.99 per month. Whether you really need this for photography is another matter, because even with the Adobe Photography Plan, you already have 100 so-called credits from your subscription.
All in all, another very eventful week. I hope you like the articles and look forward to your questions and comments.
