Weekly review 03-2026 and this week it is very mild for mid-Janauar, almost warm 🙂
This week was about the AI assistant in Luminar NEO, which was released 2 days before Christmas. This assistant analyzes the image and then makes 3 editing suggestions. It is then very well done that you can look at the edits that the AI assistant suggests and, above all, modify them. So you can take the suggestions of the AI as a basis for (further) processing.
The results of the AI proposals, of course, as with all AI applications, depend on the instruction with which you supply the AI. Of course, you can describe in detail in the prompt how you would like to have processed a image and then usually achieve a better hit rate.
However, this type of image processing is quite complex, since of course data has to be sent to the servers of Skylum via the anal system and then the editing must also be carried out. This will certainly be limited to individual cases.

While we’re at AI, let’s talk briefly about ChatGPT, which will probably test advertising in the free versions in the next few weeks. This is probably done on the background that OpenAI does not burn quite a lot of money for the AI. Allegedly, the placed advertising should not influence the quality of the answers.
Apple has entered into a cooperation with Google to use Gemini as a basis for its own AI, as it is probably lagging behind with the development of its own model. Apple has also introduced a Creator Studio subscription that includes Finalcut Pro for video editing and Pixelmator Pro for image editing.
In addition, there are other apps that Apple provides for a subscription price of 12.99 / month. Newer functions are probably only implemented in the subscription model, so you have approached a competitor Adobe very well.
